Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 89th Academy Awards in 2017, where the best picture blunder was one of the most embarrassing moments of the Oscars. Jimmy Kimmel even said "I'm not coming back" after the best Picture award. However, the fallout didn't stop Jimmy Kimmel from taking to the Oscars stage again.

In response to the announcement, Jimmy Kimmel tweeted: "Thank you to the Academy for letting me host the Oscars again (assuming I opened the right envelope)." Still laughing at his own mistake at the 89th Academy Awards. In a statement released by the Academy, President Dawn Hudson noted that Kimmel's dexterity has made him one of the best hosts of the past Academy Awards. Jimmy Kimmel was joined by Michael de Luca and Jennifer Todd, producers of the 89th Academy Awards. Michael de Luca has produced Captain Phillip, Moneyball and The Social Network, and Jennifer Todd is president of Pearl Street Films, which was founded by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
The 90th Academy Awards will be held on March 4, 2018.
