Harry Potter prequel manuscript stolen Rowling asks Fans for Help,
Harry Potter poster
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and West Midlands police are appealing to Harry Potter fans to locate a rare manuscript of a prequel story that has been stolen, according to a media report.
In 2008, Rowling penned an 800-word untitled manuscript on the front and back of an A5 postcard, telling the story of Harry Potter's father, James Potter, as a young man and his friend Sirius Black, who are chased by two Muggle police officers for speeding and wearing no helmets. The two escaped with the help of magic and brooms. Rowling's manuscript was later auctioned for charity and fetched £25,000.
Between April 13 and 24 local time, Rowling's manuscripts were stolen, along with some jewelry. West Midlands Police in England appealed to Harry Potter fans via social media on May 12 (local time) in the hope of catching the thief.
On the same day, Rowling took to social media to ask fans for help, "If someone sells it, please don't buy it."相关TAG:
